Nicole M. Carr

Nicole M. Carr (Nee Merk) Age 26. Unexpectedly called home to Heaven on September 4, 2009. 

Nicole was a founding member of the Eastern Wisconsin Herpetological Society and Rescue and served as the organization's Treasurer.  Her passion for rescuing and rehabilitating neglected and unwanted reptiles was an inspiration to everyone in the group and she will be sorely missed.  In her memory the group is creating the Nicole Carr Memorial Fund.  This fund will be used to educate reptile owners and potential owners on the care of their animals, and for rescue and rehabilitation of neglected, abused and unwanted reptiles.

Loving wife and soul mate of Nicholas for 2 years. Precious daughter of James (Linda) Merk and Deborah Merk (Shane Bayes). Dear daughter-in-law of Randy (Kathy) Carr and Jackie (Jim) Luke. Sister of Christopher (Jennifer) Merk, Nick and Amanda. Granddaughter of Inge "Nana" Merk and Harold Lucas. Sister-in-law of Bethany (Justin) Carr and Daniel Bremer. Fond aunt of Brooke and Christopher Merk. Beloved friend of Robert and Alexis Steege. Further survived by uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. 

Nicole was preceded in death by her grandparents Henry Merk, and Mike and Carol Stachewicz.

Our Mission

The Eastern Wisconsin Herpetological Society and Rescue (EWHSR) is a group of hobbyist and breeders dedicated to educating the public in regard to reptiles. We strive to promote proper husbandry, education, and fair ordinances pertaining to the keeping of reptiles.
