Erica Gerk-Zeekaf Erica Gerk-Zeekaf is a full-time college student attending both UW-Sheboygan and Lakeland College pursuing a BA in Music and MSW in Social Work, where she’s an A-student and involved in many campus activities. A local musician, she performs with local bands, performing artists, and community groups. In summer, she works as a musician at the Bristol Renaissance Faire. Erica is a certified storm spotter, and reports severe weather to the NWS and NOAA. Erica has had many health challenges battling intestinal illness. She’s had multiple reconstructive intestinal surgeries and also has a BCIR ostomy. (www.bcir.com) A Family tree researcher /genealogist, she's researched her family as far back as the 1750's in Germany. She also has research in Wales, Holland, Indonesia, and New Zealand. A history geek, she loves reading and owns “far too many books.” She’s also a numismatist (coin collector), and collects rocks and minerals, seashells, and sea glass. An alumnus of Sheboygan North High School, Erica continues to judge for the Forensics team (WFCA) and is also a member of BACA–Maritime Chapter (Bikers Against Child Abuse). Her many hobbies include gardening, cooking, anything outdoors including camping, hunting, fishing, mountain biking, and hiking; martial arts; snowboarding, skateboarding, and watching cartoons. While she is a newcomer to the world of herps, she is immersing herself with the same gusto that she gives to all her interests.
